American Ripple Trim Mercurial Barometer

A nice American ripple trim mercurial barometer. Ripple trim was only made for a couple of years, right around 1850. This one is in very nice condition, but for one chip on the upper right return (see close up). Original crusty old finish.
The paper scale was shot, I scanned, and worked with a graphic's program to make a replacement,
in the correct style.

The original tube, was acid cleaned and refilled with fresh mercury.
Note on the right side of the paper, the wire indicator, which you slide up and down to mark the height.
This is so next time you can tell if it rising, or falling.
